Wave

Part of Physics

  • Wave

    • Wave characteristics

Waves cause a disturbance of the medium through which they travel, which allows them to carry energy. The quantity of energy carried relates to the amplitude of the wave.

    • Sound

The amplitude and frequency of a sound wave can be examined using a microphone and oscilloscope. By measuring the speed of sound we can apply the wave equation to determine its wavelength.
