Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa have scored 39 Premier League goals between them this season
Thomas Frank says Brentford are 'open' to offers for Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa this summer - but he wants to keep both forwards at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Mbeumo became the second Bees player, after Ivan Toney, to score 20 goals in a Premier League campaign with his first-half opener in the 1-1 draw at Wolves.
Both he and Wissa have one more year left on their current deals, plus the option to extend by an additional year.
"That gives us a little bit of an advantage," boss Frank told BBC Match of the Day. "We'll decide for ourselves if we want to sell them or not.
"But I've said many times before that we're a selling club. If the right bid comes in, we're open. Of course I'd like to keep them."
Brentford ended the campaign in 10th place to miss out on the chance of playing European football for the first time, as even finishing eighth would not be enough.
They took a 20th-minute lead at Molineux when Christian Norgaard picked out Mbeumo for a simple finish after Rayan Ait-Nouri lost possession deep inside his own half.
But Marshall Munetsi's stunning first-time strike from Jorgen Strand Larsen's header salvaged a point for Vitor Pereira's team, who finished in 16th place.
Pereira bemoans lack of focus for mistakes
'I'm very proud' - Pereira
Wolves fans would have happily settled for a final-day 'dead rubber' when they were languishing in the relegation zone in late January, but their campaign had petered out in recent weeks after an excellent run between February and April.
Successive defeats by Manchester City, Brighton and Crystal Palace had halted their momentum under Pereira, and they looked in danger of slipping to a fourth straight loss when Mbeumo put the visitors in front.
Wolves delivered one of their worst defensive displays of the season in a 5-3 defeat at the Gtech Community Stadium in October, and it was another poor mistake at the back that gifted the Bees the lead here.
Ait-Nouri turned into traffic after collecting Cunha's deep inside his own half and, after Wissa's shot was deflected into the path of Norgaard, the Dane kept his composure to pick out Mbeumo to score.
"Since the City game, we've committed some mistakes that are not usual," Pereira told BBC Match of the Day. "Sometimes it looks like we're not focused in those moments."
Keeper Flekken was kept busy at the other end as the hosts managed 18 attempts, but Brentford appeared to be holding on relatively comfortably until Larsen's header sent Munetsi racing clear.
Rather than collecting the Norwegian striker's flick-on in his stride and advancing into the penalty area, Munetsi opted to hit the ball first-time, leaving Flekken grasping at thin air as the ball sailed into the roof of the net.
Boss Pereira has become a popular figure since replacing Gary O'Neil in December, but the Portuguese faces a big summer to improve his squad, with Cunha - who has been linked with Manchester United - and Nelson Semedo two first-team players likely to leave the club.
Club captain Semedo in particular was given a warm reception by the Molineux faithful as Pereira's squad took part in a lap of appreciation after full-time.
Mbeumo matches Toney's top-flight mark
Mbuemo has had an incredible season - Frank
Despite missing out on Europe, Brentford can still look back on the 2024-25 campaign with pride.
They collected 23 points from their 10 away league matches in 2025, which was comfortably the best record in the division.
Only Bournemouth's better goal difference denied the Bees ninth place - which would have matched their Premier League record from the 2022-23 campaign - while their tally of 66 goals was their most in a top-flight season since 1937-38.
Fifty of those goals have come from their front three of Kevin Schade, Wissa and Mbeumo.
The Bees wasted good first-half chances as Wolves keeper Jose Sa denied Wissa in a one-against-one opportunity, while Keane Lewis-Potter sent a looping effort on to the roof of the net from a similar position.
Norgaard also tested Sa twice in the second half, but Munetsi's effort denied them a first league double over Wolves since the 2015-16 Championship campaign.
"Before the season, if you had said we would finish 10th, people would have said it's impressive," added Frank.
"To have a 20-goal goalscorer in the Premier League [in] two out of four seasons, as a club who aren't a top three or four club, is something to be proud of."
